Hi there! For those of you who do not know me, my name is Maddie, and I am a new stylist here at Tangles Salon. I am so happy to be here, and have been loving getting to know each and everyone of you. For as long as I can remember, I have loved anything to do with beauty. After leaving college, I decided to take a risk and go to cosmetology school. And boy, was that the best decision I have ever made!
Everyday, I fall more in love with this industry and continue to learn so much. But overall, my favorite part of this industry has been what I like to call, “embracing your natural beauty.” Whether that is through hair or makeup, we can all embrace the natural beauty God gave us.
Now, you may be asking yourself, “how can I embrace my natural beauty?” Well, you have come to the right place! My number one job is for you to not only look good, but feel good about yourself. Confidence is the most attractive quality one can have.
An example of what I love most is adding a few rich caramel highlights to a beautiful brunette. What we are doing here is not a drastic change, but simply, working with your NATURAL hair color. A phrase that I use a lot during a color consultation is “lived in.” What “lived in” is, is a hair coloring technique that uses color at the root area to blend highlight lines into a soft gradation. This is yet another way to use a NATURAL root for a soft highlight.
Natural hair color does not have to mean, you have no color on your hair. You can achieve a natural look from doing a change as well. Let’s say you want to go from fully blonde to brunette. What you might think is, “oh, all we have to do is put one color over my blonde and I am back to brunette.” Well not necessarily. There are millions of ways to go about this. What I love to do is, still include some of your highlights, but instead of going right to an all over dark brown, we start with adding a rich brown color but keeping out some highlights to add dimension.
As we transition into each season, I love to play around with all of the different tones. For summer, I love to add a little more coolness to blondes for a brighter effect. As we move into fall and winter, the warm tones take over me. When you come to see me, as each season passes, we are able to use the tones of the season to embrace your NATURAL color. Every single one of you is NATURALLY beautiful, and I am here to get you started by doing the simple change.
Thank you so much for reading! I can’t wait to embrace beauty with you!
